"Many a cookie can has been filled with these famous treats!"

     1 cup shortening
     1-1/2 cup sugar
     2 eggs
     2-3/4 cup flour
     1 tsp. baking soda
     1/2 tsp. salt
     1 tsp. nutmeg
     1 tsp. vanilla

*   Heat oven to 400 degrees.
*   Blend wet ingredients, then fold in dry ingredients.
*   Roll dough into balls the size of small walnuts.
*   Roll each ball in mix of 2 tsp. sugar + 2 tsp. cinnamon.
*   Place the balls in an array on an ungreased cookie sheet.
*   Bake for 8-10 minutes. Do not over bake.
*   Transfer to cooling rack immediately out of oven!

  Approximately 4 dozen cookies -- great with milk!
